Imagine… (Last blog for awhile)
What I choose to build today will become part of it and that means I have to go all in. I accept what that asks of me: better priorities, more care with my time and energy, and the discipline to keep going. No one can do that part for me. I have to give myself permission to begin and then give myself proof that follow through works.
Do What Moves You Closer
For Mom Wellness™, that meant taking a closer look at my journals. Who should print them? Where should my money go? Amazon helped me begin, but beginning somewhere does not mean I have to stay there forever. Choosing a local printing company allows me to support another business while building my own, it gives me more control over my product, creates room for a real working relationship, and keeps more of the investment within the community. That decision brings me closer to the vision I have for Mom Wellness™.
Raising Young Adult Daughters
Naturally, I want to take everything I've learned and place it directly into my daughter's hands, but I can't give her my experience, I can only share it. She gets to live her own story, so when she wonders why she hasn't found someone on her level yet, I remind her that finding someone quickly isn't the goal. Finding someone healthy is. Being chosen isn't the goal because being valued is.
The Lies We Tell Ourselves: How Hurt People Hurt People
The truth is simple: Pain does not remove personal responsibility.
You are still responsible for the words you speak, the choices you make, and the way you treat people. You are responsible for recognizing destructive patterns and deciding whether those patterns will continue through you.
Rooted, but not bound
There are seasons when we have to reconsider whether the places, routines and environments that once felt familiar still provide room for us to grow, connect and serve. We’re not angry, not going to tear down where we’ve been, and it certainly doesn't require walking away from God.
Rest Is Not a Reward
Saturday night, my body reminded me of this lesson in real time. After spending time outside in 90-plus-degree Georgia heat, being around people, and simply reaching the point where I was mentally and physically done for the week, my body made the decision clear: “We’re doing this now.”
Reopening your heart
As mothers and women, we're so accustomed to carrying, fixing, protecting, and simply getting things done that sometimes receiving support feels more vulnerable than giving it. Healing is learning that I can still take care of myself and allow someone to care about me.
Unplug to Recharge
Whatever it looks like for you, give yourself permission to have moments when you are unavailable to the noise, because you were never meant to operate at full capacity every minute of every day.
Shedding What No Longer Fits
Stay with me for a second. Every year, a tree lets go of its leaves, not because the leaves were bad, but because they were only meant for a season. By letting them go, the tree conserves its energy, strengthens its roots, and prepares for the new growth that's coming.
Choosing growth over comfort
Choosing growth doesn't mean life suddenly becomes easy and it doesn't erase disappointment or eliminate frustration. It simply means refusing to let circumstances decide who we become, and knowing healing doesn't happen all at once, but one decision at a time.
From Freedom to Locked In
I'm choosing to be locked in because I want my habits to reflect the life I'm working so hard to build. For me, that starts with taking better care of the body God has given me. That means making cardio a priority—not just to lose weight, but to strengthen my heart, increase my endurance, and have the energy to fully enjoy the life I'm building.
Freedom Changes Everything
After years of waiting, saving, sacrificing, and trusting God through every setback, my daughter drove away in her own car. I realized the greatest gift wasn't the car—it was the freedom. Freedom to breathe, freedom to say "yes" to opportunities, and freedom to finally lay down the weight we'd been carrying for far too long.
When "Stop" Is the Healthiest Thing You Can Say
Sometimes people don't just test our boundaries—they explain why they believe they should be allowed to cross them. This week, I was reminded that "stop" isn't a rejection. Sometimes, it's the healthiest thing we can say.
Zero Tolerance for Things That Pull You Backwards
For many of us as mothers, we spend years believing that love means always fixing, always responding, always carrying one more thing. Healing teaches us something different, that love and boundaries can exist together. Compassion and wisdom can walk hand in hand as grace doesn't require constant access to your peace.
A Crockpot, A Casserole, and a Clearer Vision
If I'm going to speak about my company and the work we plan to do in the future, I want to do so in a way that clearly reflects the purpose, vision, and impact behind the work, not just pieces of it. For a long time, I probably would have ignored that feeling. I would have told myself it was good enough, stayed quiet, and moved on. One of the lessons I'm learning in this season of life is that speaking up isn't selfish. It's not being difficult or ungrateful. It's being honest.
Finding Healing in the Small Pauses
For a long time, I believed progress meant constantly moving forward. Now I understand that some of life's greatest lessons are found in the pauses. The quiet moments. The opportunities to slow down long enough to notice what God may be teaching us in the middle of our everyday routines.
💙 What Pain Sometimes Reveals
We often imagine healing as a neat and orderly process. We think we'll make a decision, learn a lesson, forgive a hurt, or overcome a challenge and then simply move forward. But real healing rarely works that way. Healing can be messy. It can be painful. It can be unexpected. Sometimes it brings old wounds to the surface before they can finally be released.
Life Is Meant to Be Lived!
Healing has taught me that life isn't about waiting for everything to be perfect before we allow ourselves to enjoy it. Sometimes it's fellowship, patience, gratitude, or making life a little easier. It's letting go of what we thought life was supposed to look like and embracing what it actually is.
A Day of Remembrance❤️🤍💙
For many, Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer filled with cookouts, travel, laughter, and time spent with family and friends. There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying the long weekend, but it is also important to remember why this day exists in the first place.
