Why Wellness Mom Solutions Exists
Years ago, I stood in a Safeway checkout line in Tacoma, Washington, when my debit card declined. I was a single mother going through a divorce, money was tight and I told the cashier I would have to leave my groceries behind. A gentleman standing behind me offered to pay. Afterward, he said something I never forgot: “I don’t know what you’re going through, but when God brings you through, pay it forward to another mother.” I promised I would and to this day have no idea who that man was, but my heart was touched and I knew from that moment on, everything would be okay.
Eighteen months later, in that same checkout line, I watched a mother’s debit card decline. She apologized to her young daughter and said they would have to leave her groceries behind.
This time, I was the person standing behind her…I paid for her groceries. Through tears, she said, “God bless you.” The cashier, Ms. Christina, smiled and replied, “Oh, He will!”
I never forgot the promise I made that day—or the kindness that made it possible.
Mothers carry so much—past wounds, relationship struggles, the pressures of motherhood, family expectations, burnout, guilt, and battles no one else sees. I know what it means to carry that weight while still trying to show up for everyone around you. I learned how to survive difficult seasons, but eventually I realized that surviving and healing are not the same thing.
Healing isn’t about having everything figured out, it’s about making space to reflect, rebuild, and move forward—one step at a time. When mothers are supported in doing that, the impact reaches far beyond them.
