Life Is Meant to Be Lived!

Life has a funny way of reminding us that joy isn't always found in the big moments. Sometimes we think healing looks like a major breakthrough, a big accomplishment, or finally reaching a destination we've been working toward for years. Lately, I've been reminded that healing often looks much simpler than that. Sometimes it's found in tacos at a church dinner followed by singing alongside people who feel like family, then having leftovers at home that make you smile. There's something special about gathering around a table, sharing a meal, laughing, and enjoying community. Those moments remind us that we were never meant to carry life alone.

Sometimes healing looks like sitting in Savannah traffic while rain pours down so hard you can barely see the road ahead. Not every day goes according to plan as delays happen and storms come. We can spend our energy fighting what we cannot control, or we can learn to breathe, be patient, and trust that we'll get where we're supposed to be in time. One of the greatest gifts of slowing down is discovering the beauty that has been there all along.

Sometimes it's looking up at a beautiful gold-domed building you've passed countless times and finally appreciating the history standing right in front of you. Living in Savannah has given me countless opportunities to notice things I might have rushed past before. When we take the time to truly look, we begin to notice the history around us, the character of old buildings, the craftsmanship in architecture, and the quiet moments woven into everyday life. These reminders encourage us to pause, reflect, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us each day. Historic buildings, beautiful architecture, and everyday scenes remind me that there is beauty all around us if we're willing to look for it.

Sometimes it's something as simple as a new air fryer that helps make dinner a little easier after a long day! My new air fryer won't solve all of life's problems, but it does make dinner a little simpler and sometimes self-care isn't about bubble baths and spa days. Sometimes it's giving yourself permission to choose convenience when you need it.

Healing has taught me that life isn't about waiting for everything to be perfect before we allow ourselves to enjoy it. Sometimes it's fellowship, patience, gratitude or making life a little easier. It's letting go of what we thought life was supposed to look like and embracing what it actually is.

The laughter, the rainstorms, the architecture, the small conveniences, the unexpected moments, the ordinary days that quietly become memories. So often we chase the next milestone, the next achievement, the next version of ourselves, but what if the life we're working so hard toward is already happening?

It's happening right now and Iโ€™m here for every single moment of it!

Healing is letting go of what's "supposed to be" and embracing what is.
