Finding Healing in the Small Pauses

Yogi® Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy tea morning routine at work.

Some mornings, healing looks less like a breakthrough and more like a cup of tea.

Last week, I sat down at work with one of my favorite teas—Yogi® Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy tea. Before the emails, meetings, and endless to-do lists began, I took a moment to enjoy the warmth of a familiar routine.

As I opened the tea bags, I noticed the encouragement printed on the tags:

"The only constant is change."

"Use your head to live with heart."

Simple words, yet somehow they landed exactly where I needed them.

Healing isn't always a straight path. It isn't a checklist that we complete and move on from. Some days we feel strong, hopeful, and confident. Other days we find ourselves revisiting old emotions, old wounds, or unexpected challenges. Healing ebbs and flows, and growth often happens in ways we don't immediately recognize.

For a long time, I believed progress meant constantly moving forward. Now I understand that some of life's greatest lessons are found in the pauses. The quiet moments. The opportunities to slow down long enough to notice what God may be teaching us in the middle of our everyday routines.

Part of why I enjoy this particular tea is that it does more than taste good. Its blend of black tea, green tea extract, yerba maté, lemongrass, citrus, and herbal ingredients is designed to support focus, sustained energy, and overall well-being. Rather than reaching for another source of stress-fueled energy, this tea reminds me to approach the day intentionally—energized, but grounded.

In many ways, healing works the same way.

We often think healing requires major life changes or dramatic breakthroughs, but sometimes healing begins with small, consistent choices. A morning routine. A quiet prayer. A journal entry. A walk outside. A cup of tea enjoyed before the demands of the day take over.

The tea tag reminded me that change is inevitable. Life seasons shift. Relationships evolve. Circumstances come and go. Yet through it all, we have an opportunity to respond with wisdom, grace, and compassion—for ourselves and for others.

The older I get, the more I appreciate these small moments that once seemed insignificant. A peaceful morning. A favorite drink. A few minutes of stillness before work. These moments are not distractions from healing; they are often part of the healing itself.

Healing isn't just about where we're going. It's also about learning to appreciate where we are right now.

Today, I hope you give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and embrace the journey. Let yourself enjoy the small moments. Let yourself celebrate the progress you've made, and remember that even when healing feels slow, growth is still taking place.

Sometimes all it takes is a cup of tea and a few simple words to remind us that we're exactly where we need to be.

Affirmation:

I honor my healing journey. I embrace change with grace, trust the process, and find joy in life's small moments. Each day, I choose peace, growth, and gratitude as I continue becoming the person God created me to be.
